This course will explore the varied and diverse elements of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its integration and evolving role in dentistry. The increased usage and adoption of AI technology in dental practices has indelibly impacted diagnostic and cognitive computing, decision making influence, and ultimately the methods of delivery of oral healthcare. Understanding and identifying the uses, implications and potential risks are key elements for successful implementation into your practice management and delivery of patient care.

Objectives:

  • Analyze the ethical considerations surrounding AI, including bias in algorithms and patient privacy concerns.

  • Identify best practices for documenting the use of AI in patient care, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Develop effective communication strategies for patient education regarding the use and application of AI during the informed consent process.

Art Curley, Esq.

Mr. Curley is a senior trial attorney in California.  After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with honors in 1970, he obtained his J.D. in 1974 from the UC College of Law, San Francisco.  He is currently an Assistant Professor of Dental Jurisprudence at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco and an Adjunct Faculty Professor at the University of California, San Francisco.  As a trial attorney, he has been defending doctors for over 49 years and has presented risk management courses throughout the United States and Canada. He is an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates.  Mr. Curley has published several articles on risk management and authored chapters in numerous text books on oral surgery, endodontics and periodontics

No. Non-policyholders and dental team members can participate in most seminars and e-learning courses and earn C.E. However, only TDIC policyholders can benefit from premium discounts for two years for completing the current seminar.

E-learning courses are available through CDA Presents 360, an online learning platform. When you click Register Now for your course, you will be directed to https://www.cdapresents360.com/learn/signin.

Simply click Register Now, sign in or create a profile, and follow the prompts. 

Tips for signing in:

  • If you are a TDIC policyholder and have registered for a course previously, be sure to log in using the same email address and password you used to create your account.
  • If you are a TDIC policyholder with online account access, you will still need to create an account to register for an e-learning course.
